Stay active

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2000, shortly after I retired from my business. I was a hairdresser and had a great day spa in Santa Rosa, California. I've always been a strong personality and a hard worker. What a blow to my dream, a very active retirement. Now, instead, so that this Get me down, I have been active, and I credit them with a slow progression of the disease.

Fortunately, the love I have in the garden, and although I do not feel good when I win out in the yard and work with the discounts, I have energy. Anything about the disease, it is different for each patient and doctors know very little about them, nor have a cure. Since it was obvious to me, numbness and tingling in the feet and legs. Recently, I have much pain and is due to the loss of myelin, the protective coating on nerve endings. Sometimes there are lots in the spinal cord and that is why many patients can not walk. I had no problem and feel very happy. I also have interferon injections, will prevent many patients. I know there are many side effects and I was not prepared to chance.

Another way I stay active swimming, which I love. When I swim laps, maybe every other day, I feel much better. I also started on the web, which is a site about gardening. It was a learning process for me, because I had little computer experience. But the more I learn, the better I feel. It is a great sense of achievement.

If you are a person who has been diagnosed with MS are aware, I urge them to remain active. Sometimes it is very difficult because the disease makes you very tired, but it is better to push through the wall and continue to get this job.
